Spring 25 - School of Art & Science

Situated on the campus of Drew University in Madison, NJ, this specialized Art and Science high school is designed to ignite student collaboration through strategically staggered communal spaces. Grounded in educational research suggesting that collective ideation and peer-to-peer learning enhance academic outcomes, the architecture serves as a physical manifestation of the learning process. The building’s facade utilizes a dual-language fenestration system: strict rectangular windows denote the structured, disciplined environment of the classrooms, while fluid, organic apertures signify the collaboration zones. These curvilinear forms represent the moldable nature of the adolescent mind, celebrating diverse learning styles that exist outside the traditional "strict box" of conventional education.
